What started at a stable 6 decades ago, by Wilhelm Kullmann, has developed to a Global leader in band sawing technology with over 750 employees around the world, and numerous subsidiaries to provide solutions for the local needs.

For the occasion, a delegation of Wikus Saw Technology employees participated at the Anniversary. During the visit WIKUS Saw team were able to meet their counterparts in the new facility, participate in workshops and participate in various exchanges with all the departments of interest.

The festive day

Visitors had a chance to experience the new way of lean enterprise. Unveiled was the META concept that stands for Most Efficient Technology and Administration. The concept is reflected in the new in-line production & facility, that visitors had a chance to walk through. The same conception is also in the new transparent world of administration with WI.COM building.

The festivities took place in the newly finished manufacturing and administration building (WI.COM) where some of the most modern Bi-Metal inline production equipment is housed. Above the manufacturing lines an impressive structure houses the administration the “New way of Working”. Open office for the administration and management of WIKUS in a very modern and contemporary open office space layout for over 100 employees. In the evening over 1500 dignitaries, retirees, employees, representatives from the WIKUS subsidiaries, partners and guests attended to celebrate this milestone. Various speakers described the evolution from the past, present to the future and what to expect. The various speeches were accompanied with tasteful entertainment throughout the evening.

The new facility

When driving into Spangenberg the first thing that you see is the WI.COM structure. An impressive, modern, futuristic, building resembling a coil or band saw blade. The same feel overcomes you within the building, a world filled with light – a glass environment that makes you think you are on a space station.
