In the wake of this, how can the cutting process be linked digitally?
In cooperation with machine manufacturers, the idea arose to use QR codes in the future. The vision behind this is to fi t band saw blades with QR codes which contain the relevant parameters for the respective cutting process.
A scanner attached directly to the machine should read the information of the QR code and automatically transmit the cutting parameters to the machine controls. This should prevent sources of errors such as inappropriate product use and not ideal cutting parameter selection and make the use of band saw blades more economical than before. Currently, the implementation is being developed by the machine
manufacturers.
We are already on this modern path and fit our printed blades with a QR code as well, which contains information such as the blade dimensions and tooth pitch of the relevant blade.
The user can scan this QR code with our ParaMaster® App and automatically receives this information in the App. Afterwards, the user still supplies the rest of the relevant data such as the material to be cut and receives a cutting parameter recommendation.
Our aim:
In the future, all bimetal and carbide products should be printed with a QR code. This conversion will take place step by step because it is necessary to adapt the manufacturing process.
